How To Reset FTP User Password In cPanel?
An FTP account helps us to upload and manage files on your website. An FTP account is automatically created in the cPanel when we sign up for hosting or create an addon domain or subdomain.
If you have forgotten the password for an FTP account you created, or just want to reset it, you can easily change it in cPanel in a few clicks.
NOTE: The password used for the cPanel FTP user cannot be reset through the FTP interface. cPanel FTP user and cPanel login password are the same.
Steps to reset FTP user password in cPanel
- Login to your cPanel account.
- Under the Files section, select the FTP Accounts option.
- Click on Change Password under the Actions tab for the FTP account you want to change password.
- In the expanded section, type in your new password and confirm it. Click on Change Password to update it.
Note: Make sure to use a strong password using the alphabet(upper and lower case ), numbers, and special characters.
That’s It! Your FTP user password is updated.
